If your music student is looking for something to challenge them during the "off-season", consider one of the many programs available throughout the summer:

The Ilion Civic Band 

For students in grades 9-12 as well as community members with musical instrument experience. Concerts are free for all!    http://www.ilioncivicband.com/

A message from the director: I'd like to pass along to you and your students the invitation to play with the Ilion Civic Band this summer. We are one of New York States' oldest continuously running community bands.  A community band can be traced back to Ilion as far back as the 1890s.    Our rehearsals will start the first Monday in June at 7:00 PM with concerts starting at the end of June and running through the end of July.  All rehearsals are held in the Ilion Municipal building and concerts are located around the village of Ilion.  Our season culminates with a performance at the Ilion Village Marina and the New Hartford Citizens Band festival. Pay in the group is based on experience so as a music teacher you are at the top of the pay scale.  

The Dolgeville Community Band

For any local musicians with musical instrument experience, all ages accepted. We rehearse in May and June. We perform every Thursday in July at Plowe Park in Dolgeville, NY at 7:00pm.  Come join us!
